I am now Artistic Director of Kali Theatre.
My First Season Is Kalisthenics
Why Kalisthenics?
Calisthenics is the art of building strength and flexibility through one’s own body—a discipline of control, rhythm, and flow.
For Kali Theatre, Kalisthenics is more than a season of work. It is a living, breathing expression of our evolution. It celebrates who we have been, who we are now, and who we are becoming, a bold multidisciplinary gathering that harnesses the physical, emotional, and imaginative power of South Asian women and non-binary artists.
As Artistic Director, my vision is to shape a world where theatre, sound, installation, and movement collide.
This is not a traditional programme of plays; it is a curated environment. Every space, from the stage to the foyer, is designed to hold complexity, feeling, and defiance. The audience moves through stories like they move through a body: shifting, stretching, resisting, and surrendering.
This season asks a vital question:
What does it mean to be strong—as an individual, as an artist, and as a community, and how do we find balance in a world that demands more?
Through my first season I want to create a space for endurance, tenderness, and collective power. This is theatre that doesn't just speak, it breathes, beats, and builds.
Kalisthenics is strength in motion. And I am here to shape its form.
